Abstract

150,433. Jardine, J. M. June 2, 1919. Joist floors; reinforced-concrete beams.-In a reinforced-concrete floor, roof, &c. of the kind in which a series of reinforced concrete slabs, which may be arched, bear on main concrete beams, the latter are T-shaped and are provided with bevelled sides 3 and projections 4 to support the arched slabs, which are correspondingly bevelled. The lower end of the stem of the T is also provided with projections 12 to support ceiling slabs 8 in known manner. The sides of the slabs are shaped as shown in Fig. 3 so as to form a groove 9 in which the reinforcements of the slabs are jointed, as shown, and also to accommodate reinforcements 11 which span the beams. The upper surface of the floor may be finished in granolithic, marble &c.
