Abstract

1503725 Calcium sulphate hemihydrate compositions GIULINI GmbH Gebr 16 Oct 1975 42506/75 Headings C1A and C1H A calcium sulphate α-hemihydrate composition wherein at least 50% by weight of the hemihydrate has a particle size between 6 and 60 Ám and containing from 0À2 to 0À9% by weight, based on the hemihydrate, of potassium sulphate. The composition which is suitable for admixture with water to form a plaster may additionally contain liquefiers, e.g. those based on melamine and phenolic resins; hardening retarders as well as other known additives, e.g. antifoam agents, dyes, methyl cellulose, powdered quartz and fillers. The preferred weight ratio of composition and water is from 100:24 to 100:40 which mixtures may then be cast and hardened to form gypsum articles.
