Abstract

1503584 Axial-flow fans FORBACH GmbH & CO K G 10 June 1975 [20 March 1975] 24925/75 Heading F1C [Also in Division F4] An electric space heater comprises a spherical housing having a flat base 14, and a weight 15 and a reel-in device for an electric cable 18 located to lower the centre of gravity of the heater to a position adjacent the base, so that the heater will return to its normal standing position whenever knocked or turned over. The housing is formed by two hemispherical glued together half shells 1, 3 which provide a circular slit air intake region 2 and a circular air outlet 4' respectively. A grid 4 shaped to form part of the spherical surface of the housing is releasably secured in the outlet 4'. A metal cylindrical duct 9 containing electric heating elements 13, a fan 12, 12' and a temperature selection control device 11, is inserted into the housing as a unit through outlet 4' and is held in place by the grid 4 and projections 10 on the half-shell 1. A rotatable control knob 7 for the device 11 is housed in a recess 6 below a handle 5 for the housing.
