1503499 Topical antiprotozoal compositions FISONS Ltd 12 Aug 1975 [23 Aug 1974] 37078/74 Heading A5B A method of combating protozoa systemic- ally in a non-human animal comprises applying to the skin of the animal an amount sufficient to exert an antiprotozoal effect of one or more antiprotozoal components. Compositions containing 4, 4'-(Pentamethylenedioxy) dibenzamidine and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; 4, 4'-(Trimethylenedioxy) dibenzamidine and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; 4, 4'-Oxydibenzamidine and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; 3, 3'-Diamidinocarbanilide and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof; and 3, 3'-Di (2-imidazolin- 2-yl) carbanilide and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are also claimed. Other materials which combat ectoparasites such as famphur and tetramisole may also be present.
