Abstract

1500732 Cemented carbide cutting inserts CUTANIT Ltd (Metallwerk Plansee AG) 16 Jan 1975 1996/75 Heading B3B A cemented carbide cutting insert comprises an elongate bar 1 of square or rectangular crosssection the longitudinal edges thereof serving as cutting edges 2, a slot 4 formed in opposite sides of the bar extending along the whole length of the bar and having a width less than one third of the width of the side of the bar, the slot being adapted to receive the flange 6 on a bead of a pin 5 to secure the inert in a holder. A part cylindrical surface 3 may be provided in the two opposite sides to provide chip breaking regions which extend along the whole length of the bar. Slots may also be provided in each side of the bar.
