Abstract

1500712 Spray producers DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 28 Jan 1975 [28 Feb 1974] 9239/74 Heading B2F [Also in Division F4] In a liquid atomiser gas is supplied through bores 5, passes through gas duct 7 between inner and outer coaxial tubes 3, 4 and is ejected as a high velocity gas stream from an annular nozzle 12 formed by a frustoconical sleeve 13 and outer tube 4; liquid is supplied through bores 6, passes along flow passage 8 between inner tube 3 and a support rod 9 before being swirled by helical screw 17 then flows onto surface 14 of generally frusto-conical member 15 and intersects the gas stream at the periphery of the member 15 to be atomised, the gas stream having passed over an annular resonant cavity 16 formed between member 15 and sleeve 13. As a fuel atomiser air and kerosene may be used.
