Abstract

1499922 Filter cartridges TECAFILTRES 18 Feb 1975 [18 Feb 1974] 6891/75 Headings BID and BIT A filter cartridge, e.g. for an I.C. engine air intake, comprises annular end caps of plastics material, each presenting a radially directed sealing surface 15, 25 divided into two annular lips to enhance flexibility. The seals made between surfaces 15, 25 and an enclosing metal or plastics housing are not affected by the tightness with which cover 19, 20 is secured thereto. Cartridges may have sealing surfaces directed inwards, outwards or various combinations of both. The sealing surfaces may cooperate with cylindrical or frusto-conical surfaces on the housing and cover, and the whole filter could be oval rather than circular in section.
