1498045 Earth leakage protection circuits HANSEL PTY Ltd 30 Dec 1974 [3 Jan 1974] 56067/74 Heading H2K Occurrence of earth leakage to the frame 41 of an appliance triggers an SCR or triac 40 into conduction so as to short the live supply conductor A to neutral N or earth E and thereby blow a fuse F. The control electrode of the SCR/triac 40 is connected to the frame via a diode or resistor 42, and a diode 43 may also be included in the earth lead. A triac triggered by the earth lead potential may be included in the neutral lead.
