Abstract

1497077 Photo-copying AGFA-GEVAERT AG 23 Dec 1974 [22 Dec 1973] 55520/74 Heading G2A Electrostatic copying apparatus comprises a housing 1, a fixed means 10 for supporting an original to be copied, a moveable photo-sensitive copying member 3, and optical scanning means for scanning a fixed original and for projecting an image thereof on to member 3, the scanning means comprising fixed mirrors 12, 13 and an objective 16 moveable between two.limiting positions in a direction, arrow B, normal to the optical axis and the plane of the original. As shown, a lamp 11 moves in direction A at twice the speed of objective 16, which is moved through a rack and pinion 18, 17, and the projected light enters a picture gate 19 on rotatable copying drum 3, a developing device 4, a paper stack and reel 5, 6, a removable corona discharge device 7, and fixing and cleaning devices 8, 9 being provided. A further scanning means comprising fixed mirrors 24, 25, and an objective 28 movable along the ray path 26 by members 30, 31, 32, 33 projects an image of a moving original fed to a fixed exposure slot 23 through a further picture gate 34. Movement of objective 28, and possibly also of one of the mirrors 24, 25, along ray path 26 alters the size of the image. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the objective (28') is at an acute angle to ray path (26') so that only one picture gate (19') is used, objective (28') being movable by a lever (40).
