Abstract
1497062 Transistor oscillator DAWE INSTRUMENTS Ltd 14 May 1975 [20 July 1974] 32235/74 Heading H3T An oscillator comprises a transistor 19 with the primary 16 of a transformer 15 in its collector circuit, a secondary winding 17 feeding a load 29, e.g. an ultrasonic transducer, and a tertiary winding 18 feeding back to the base via a seriesresonant circuit 24, 25, 26. The capacitor 23 across the primary is selected to ensure that the maximum of voltage across the transistor coincides with minimum current and minimum with maximum. The supply across lines 12, 13 provided by smoothed 14 diode bridge 11 biases the base via resistor 21, the swing being limited by diode 22. The load inductor 27 and/or capacitor 28 may be omitted. For higher power the circuit may use two identical oscillators (Fig. 2, not shown), the second between negative line 13 and a still more negative line, feedback series resonant circuits being coupled in parallel via a common inductor to the two tertiary windings in parallel or series, the load being across the secondaries in parallel or series. Alternatively a single transformer may be used with single secondary and tertiary and twin primary windings.
