Abstract
1495745 Processing apparatus KODAK Ltd 22 May 1975 [30 May 1974] 23997/74 Heading G2X A container 1 has a cover 3 which floats on the liquid 2 therein, stops 6 being provided on the container for limiting the upward movement of the cover. The container forms part of a processing apparatus. As shown, the stops 6 are formed by screws, which can be adjusted to alter the limit of movement of the cover. In use, the liquid 2 expands with increasing temperature, so that the cover rises until it is stopped by the screws 6. The cover has apertures 4 and 5 therein, so that with further expansion the liquid rises in these apertures, a sensing element 18 operating a replenishing device. When the apparatus is not in use, the liquid contracts and the level falls, the cover still remaining on the surface and so preventing oxidation thereof. The sensing element 18 does not operate in this case. The cover may have a space (19) Fig. 3 (not shown) on its underside for accommodating various components.
