Abstract
1495585 Seat upholstery VITA INTERNATIONAL Ltd 18 May 1976 [25 Feb 1975] 7886/75 Heading A4M A diaphragm 10 for a vehicle seat is formed from a flexible sheet of spunbonded polypropylene provided along at least two opposite sides with tube formations 11 or hems which house substantially rigid rods 13 engaged by resilient elements 14, 20 or 33 for securing the diaphragm to a seat frame. The resilient elements may comprise metal springs 14 with hooked ends 15 and the diaphragm may have a flap to overlie the springs. Alternatively, Fig. 3, the resilient elements may comprise rubber or other elastomeric strips 20 with apertures 22 to receive anchoring hooks 32. The apertures 22 may have eyelets 23 or the strips 20 may have reinforcing plates at each end. Alternatively the strips may have thickened ends provided with the apertures. Alternatively, Fig. 6, at each side the diaphragm is secured by hooks 36 engaged in apertures in an elastomeric strip 33 extending along the side.
