Abstract

1493873 Automatic phonograph WURLITZER CO 31 Jan 1975 [29 March 1974] 4248/75 Heading G5R In an automatic phonograph or juke box having a magazine 22 in which records are disposed in toroidal array, a record selection arrangement includes a disc 24 attached to the drive shaft 20 of the magazine carrying on radii corresponding to the position of the records in the array, binary coded indications of the numbers of the corresponding records and these indications which are in the form of apertures in the disc are read by photo-electric detector elements associated with yoke 28. Comparator 14 energizes the drive 18 for the magazine when a selection is made in unit 10 and its number is fed to the comparator and the drive is stopped when the required number read by the photo-electric elements is applied to the comparator.
