Abstract
1492617 Making butter DE DANSKE MEJERIERS MASKINFABRIK AmbA 23 Jan 1975 [6 Feb 1974] 3016/75. Heading C5C An apparatus for making butter comprises chum cylinders 1, 2 for churning cream, a screw press section 4 for separating butter milk from butter grains and a kneading unit comprising a positive displacement pump 10 with rotors 11a, 11b, the unit acting both as a first kneading zone and a conveyor to a second kneading zone, the latter comprising a vacuum butter worker 11 with closed expansion tank 12 so dimensioned that the dwell time of butter therein will be at least 2 minutes, kneading members 14 and vacuum pipe 13; in use the kneading in the second zone is longer and less vigorous than in the first zone. A damper 15 controls the butter ingress to 10. Brine may be added via inlet 16. In a further embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown), the churn and first butter working zone are combined.
