Abstract
1491144 Polyamides KANSAI PAINT CO Ltd and DAICEL Ltd 23 Jan 1975 [24 Jan 1974] 3088/75 Heading C3R [Also in Division B6] Nylon 12 which is to be used in the production of relief printing plates (see Division B6) may be formed by co-polymerization of #-laurolactam with one or more other lactams having a carbon number up to 11, e.g. #-laurolactam with #-caprolactam in weight proportions of 80 to 20 or 55À5 to 44À5; or by co-polycondensation of #-laurolactam with a nylon salt which is an amide of an aliphatic diamine (carbon number up to 8) and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid (carbon number up to 12). The nylon may be mixed with other compatible polymers; in one example a homopolymer of #-laurolactam is blended with ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer in a weight ratio of 78 to 22.
