Abstract

1490701 Box with collapsible tray BOWATER PACKAGING Ltd 19 Sept 1975 [23 Oct 1974] 45972/74 Heading B8P A carton for confectionery comprises a rectangular base portion having half-lid portions attached to opposite edges thereof and a tray secured or securable to the base. As shown the tray is formed with inwardly extending flaps 51, 53 and is arranged such that when these flaps are raised in line with the sides to which they are attached the tray is collapsible by means of creases 57 in the walls thereof. In the erected state the tray is held erect by flaps 55 which do not include a crease 57 and are not glued to the sides 45, gluing being restricted to the area (59) between the crease 57 and the corner of the tray. The outer casing includes a plinth 5, 15 extending outwards from the base of the carton; and half lids each comprising a side panel 43, lid panel 9, 11 and end panels 23, 25 all having double thickness formed by super-position of two panels; and the lids having fastening means formed by tab 37 and slot 40. The tray and outer casing are each formed from a blank.
