Abstract

1490675 Folding paper MASCHINEN-FABRIK WIFAG 24 March 1976 [8 April 1975] 11812/76 Heading B8R A folding apparatus positioned between two printing units 10, 11, Fig. 2, of a rotary printing- machine comprises a replaceable assembly 12, Fig. 1, including a set of folding cylinders 18. Folding funnels 5, web feed means 6 and folder drive means 7 are fixed to the machine frame 1, 2. The assembly 12 is screwed to the frame by screws 15, and has a plurality of pins 19 attached by hooks 20 to lifting cables 21. To replace an assembly, the screws 15 are released and the cables lower the assembly on to a carriage 15, which removes it horizontally after release of the hooks, A new assembly is brought into position, the hooks are attached, the assembly raised, and the screws replaced. The cables and hooks may be replaced by threaded spindles, racks, or a lifting stage below the assembly.
