Bore-hole apparatus.-In connecting deviation of a bore-hole in soft strata by inserting a wedge-piece to direct the drill in the desired direction, the wedge-piece a is fixed by means of a blade c thereon of cruciform section which penetrates the soil. The axis of the blade is preferably 'inclined to that of the wedge-piece, which is thereby forced against the side of the bore-hole.
