Abstract

1489680 Vehicle steering systems EATON GmbH 11 Nov 1975 [11 Nov 1974] 46503/75 Heading B7H A steering system for a vehicle, such as a fork lift truck, having a centrally pivoted axle 42 comprises an hydraulic cylinder slidably mounted on a piston connected by piston-rods 4, 4a to the chassis, and movable in response to fluid supplied to either side of the piston through connections 2, 3 and ducts in the pistonrods, and a cable or chain 34 having ends fixed to the chassis at 35 and trained about pulleys 32, 33 mounted at each end of the cylinder and pulleys 39, 40 and 41 on the chassis and axle. The cylinder is slidably mounted on a member extending transversely of the vehicle (Fig. 2, not shown) to prevent rotation thereof.
