Abstract

1489582 Waste receptacles H H BURTON and E BURTON 16 June 1975 [19 March 1974] 12041/74 Heading A4A A lid 1, to be fitted over a waste receptacle, has hinged to its underside a retaining device 4 for waste paper. As shown, the lid 1 to be fitted over a conventional dustbin, has a wire mesh or grid(6) with a metal frame 5 hinged to the lid, a catch 11, 12 and/or a spring 10 holding the grid and the supported waste paper against the lid. In alternative embodiments, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) the lid is hinged to a frame (14) for supporting a disposable plastics waste sack, the frame being secured to a wall or free-standing support. The lid may be of metal, plastics, or synthetic rubber.
