Abstract

1489497 Reserve fuel supply for vehicles HONDA GIKEN KOGYO KK 2 Sept 1975 [3 Sept 1974] 36110/75 Heading B7H A fuel tank 2, particularly for a motorcycle is provided with an electrically operated fuel gauge 3 and an outlet cock 1 having on, off and reserve positions. When in the on position the cock is connected to a tube 4 which terminates above the tank bottom and the float 9 and electrical unit 10 are arranged to give an empty signal at the gauge when the fuel reaches the level of this tube. The reserve position is achieved manually or automatically and the cock is then connected to a further pipe which extends to the bottom of the tank. A warning light 11 is illuminated when the cock is changed to reserve. A filter 7 and fuel pump 8 are provided in the system.
