Abstract

1489314 Door locking mechanism ADAMS RITE MFG CO 19 Feb 1975 [22 Feb 1974] 6944/75 Heading E2A In a door locking mechanism having a pivotable bolt, the bolt actuating lever is also pivotally mounted and is operated by a rotatable cam extension of a key-operated lock cylinder assembly. As shown in Fig. 2, bolt 20 is pivoted at 26 to casing 10 and has a slot 28 engaged by pin 33 on an actuating rocker lever 31 pivoted at 32. The other end of lever 31 is bifurcated and engaged by cam roller 34, which has a reduced diameter central portion 36, Fig. 4, to engage a notch 37 in lever 31 and end projections (41, 42 Figs. 1, 5 not shown) engaging slots 43 in casing side walls (11), 12 and biassed to the end 44 or 45 of the slots 43 by springs 46. A rotatable member 58 of the lock cylinder has a radial cam extension 59. From the latched extended bolt position of Fig. 2, extension 59 is rotated, clearing lever projection 40 and pushing roller 34 forward, part 36 engaging notch 37, so that cam extension 59 can engage lever projection 39, pivoting lever 31 and withdrawing bolt 20. Roller end projections 41, 42 then engage ends 45 of slots 43 to latch it in its withdrawn position.
