In Fig. 2, a conveyer table 7 is provided for each bottle and, as the tables are rotated around a shaft 9, they are raised in turn by a cam 8 to bring the bottle necks into contact with nozzles 11 for filling. After filling, pipes 20 carrying pipes 21, are moved radially outwardly, with respect to brackets 19 on a support ring 17, by cylinder devices 22 and, since part 9b of shaft 9 slides on part 9a, nozzles 11, attached to a tank 10 carried by part 9b, are moved vertically downwardly with respect to pipes 21 attached to part 9a by a motor which rotates worm-wheels 29 and hence turns screws 25 in holes 24. Alternative arrangements provide for vertical movement of pipes 21, rather than nozzles 11, by a similar screw arrangement or cylinder devices. In Fig. 14, a single conveyer table 7<SP>1</SP> is provided and nozzles 11 are moved vertically by rollers 75 following a cam 81. Pipes 21 are similarly moved by rollers 86 following a cam 87 and vertical movement of the tank, with all the nozzles maintained at their uneven levels, occurs by operating screws 25 since cam 81 is slidably mounted. Alternatively, the pipes 21 are moved vertically by cylinder devices. If the pipes 21 are on the same horizontal level, nozzles 11 may be returned to one level by downward movement thereof out of contact with the cam 81 or upward movement of the cam 81 by cylinder devices. Alternatively, the pipes are moved vertically by cylinder devices by varying amounts to match the uneven levels of the nozzles. The cylinder devices 22 may be replaced by arranging the nozzles 21 on arms 68, which are pivoted by shafts 67 to a plate 50 which can be rotated relative to a plate 59 having radial cam grooves for cam followers 69 or the arms, whereby the nozzles 21 can be moved into and out of the positions occupied by bottles B (Fig. 8). A similar arrangement has nozzles on arms which slide in radial grooves in plate 59 as cam followers move in arcuate grooves in a member rotatable with respect to the plate. A circular path for washing liquid is provided since a pipe 43 from tank 10 is connected to pipes 21.
