Abstract

1488357 Razors GILLETTE CO 12 May 1975 [13 May 1974] 21106/74 Heading B4B A safety razor of the injector type comprises a pair of co-operating pivotally mounted jaws 2, 3 urged towards each other by a spring 18 to clamp a blade unit 21 therebetween, the pivotal axis 4 between the jaws being so positioned relative to a blade platform 7 that a major part V of the spring force acting between the jaws is resolved to act in a direction perpendicular to the blade platform. The jaw 2 is formed with the platform 7, a guard surface 8 and, is connected to a handle 1. The spring 18 is provided with an extension 22 adapted to engage the rear edge of the blade and thereby urge the cutting edge against stops 9. The cap portion 17 of the jaws 3 may be connected thereto by arms extending upwardly past the end edge of the outer jaws thereby dispensing with an aperture 11 in the latter.
