Abstract

1486305 Insolubilized enzymes attached to catridge filters CARBORUNDUM CO 10 Sept 1974 [12 Sept 1973] 39363/74 Heading C3H A mechanically self-sustaining and fixed enzyme supporting cartridge for carrying out continuous enzyme catalysed conversions comprises a porous cylindrical body of annular crosssection of porous fibrous filter material wound around a centre core and having pores throughout substantially all of the pores having sizes of 0À1 to 100 micrometers and at least one enzyme attached to the permeable fibrous filter material. Enzyme reactions may be carried out by allowing the fluid substrate to flow through the cartridge. The enzyme may be, for example, amylase, cellulose, lipase or protease.
