Abstract

1482657 Transferring electrostatic images XEROX CORP 22 Oct 1974 [24 Oct 1973] 45573/74 Heading B6C The transfer roller of an electrostatic copying machine is provided with a ridged surface to prevent copy sheets from being wrapped around the roller during transfer. The roller may be provided with a ridged textile covering, e.g. nylon, Fig. 2, (not shown), may have a ridged surface formed by grinding, may be provided with a helical ridge by winding a nylon monofilament around its core, Fig. 3 (not shown) or may be embossed or moulded. The ridged surface lowers the effectiveness of the electrostatic attraction between roller and copy sheet.
