Abstract
1482378 Stator cores and windings WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 2 Sept 1974 [11 Sept 1973] 29231/75 Divided out of 1477510 Heading H2A [Also in Division B3] A stator for a dynamoelectric machine comprises a preformed coil about which is moulded a core to form a unitary structure, the core being formed of a plurality of insulated microlaminations in the shape of parallelepipeds of a ferromagnetic material having predetermined magnetic characteristics. The microlaminations are made of a low carbon steel or cobalt-iron and the preformed coil has a rigid insulating coating applied prior to having the core moulded around it. The method of manufacture of the stator is described and claimed in parent Specification.
