Abstract

1481983 Bearings; seals SKF INDUSTRIAL TRADING & DEVELOPMENT CO BV 24 Oct 1974 [2 Nov 1973] 46087/74 Headings F2A and F2B In a sealed rolling bearing comprising an annular cover 5 inserted into an annular groove 6 in the outer race 2, the outer portion of the cover is provided with resilient tongues 9 and extends at an angle to the inner portion 12, and, in an axial section through a tongue, the cover bears at two points of contact A, C on the contour of the annular groove, one point A being where the outer portion of the cover joins the inner portion, and the other point C being situated in the end zone of the tongue. The cover may be bent at a further point 11 between the points A, C. The contour of the annular groove which contacts the point A may be rectilinear, and inclined with respect to the radial plane. The cover is of sheet metal.
