Abstract

1481900 Cage wheels EQUIMET Ltd 14 Feb 1976 05904/76 Heading B7C A cage wheel adapted to be attached to a wheel of a vehicle, e.g. a tractor, to increase adhesion to the ground comprises three coaxial tread rings 1, 2, 3 interconnected by tread bars 4, 5, the centre ring 2 having a greater external diameter than the rings 1, 3. In the illustrated embodiment a plate 6 lying substantially in the same plane as the ring 2 is provided with holes 7 to receive studs on the vehicle wheel hub to attach the cage wheel to the vehicle wheel such that the bars 4 extend over the vehicle wheel. The plate 6 is connected by straps 8 to the rings 2, 3 and by outwardly tapering arms 9 to the ring 3. Additional holes 10 are provided in the plate 6 for attaching weights to further increase adhesion. The bars 4, 5 may be tubes. Specification 1,481,899 is referred to.
