Abstract

1481875 High chromium pitting resistant alloy steel HITACHI METALS Ltd 3 Oct 1974 [3 Oct 1973] 42960/74 Heading C7A An alloy steel of composition: Fe and impurities including rare earths, magnesium, calcium, aluminium, phosphorus and sulphur balance. The alloy displays resistance to pitting corrosion attack may be heat-treated by holding for 3 minutes at 1050, 1075 or 1100‹C, oil quenching, treating at -78‹C for 10 minutes and tempering for one hour at 200, 300 or 550‹C and may be used in the manufacture of edged tools.
