Abstract

1481306 Filter media CARLSOW-FORO Ltd 17 Oct 1974 [17 Oct 1973] 48368/73 Heading BID [Also in Division D2] An absorption depth filter medium in the form of a sheet having a thickness not less than 1 mm. comprises a porous material having an average pore size of not less than 3 microns and including at least two fibrous materials, one of which is water-insoluble potassium titanate fibres, said titanate fibres being present in an amount from 5%-75% of the total wt. of the sheet, the sheet having a density from 0.2 to 0.6 g/cc. The other fibrous material may be wood, cotton, and/or esparto grass fibres. The filter medium may include diatomaceous earths such as kieselguhr, and colour removers such as carbon or polyvinyl pyrrolidone. The filter medium may be used with layers of other filter media.
