1481165 Securing end windings in dynamoelectric machines REYROLLE PARSONS Ltd 10 July 1974 [10 July 1973] 32826/73 Heading H2A A dynamo-electric machine rotor has an end winding support structure comprising a sleeve 3, shrink-fitted about the end windings 1 to the rotor body 2, in combination with a plurality of pre-formed restraining rings 4 of higher tensile strength than the sleeve and dimensioned to engage closely the outer cylindrical surface of the sleeve when the latter is fitted to the rotor. the sleeve 3 may be of metal and the rings 4 are preferably of carbon fibre-reinforced plastics material. The sleeve 3 may alternatively be of non-metallic material and may be fibre-reinforced.
