Abstract

1480483 Navigational instrument EMI Ltd 18 Sept 1974 [21 Sept 1973] 44368/73 Headings G1F and G1J An instrument for use in a marine vehicle comprises a fixed scale 2 over which a pointer 1 is movable so as to indicate the true wind angle relative to the vehicle, and a second scale 3 which is adjacent fixed scale 2 and movable relative thereto, the movement of the second scale 3 being controlled by apparatus which responds to the magnetic heading of the vehicle. The second scale 3, which may surround the fixed scale 2, may be controlled by a fluxgate compass.
