Abstract
1480321 Corona discharge devices XEROX CORP 13 Oct 1975 [25 Nov 1974] 41826/75 Heading H1X [Also in Division H2] A D.C. biased A.C. corona generating device, e.g. for use in an electrostatic reproduction machine, comprises a metal shield 40 which surrounds the corona wire and which is grounded by an A.C. bypass capacitor. The arrangement allows A.C. current to be grounded whilst simultaneously blocking D.C. current so that the D.C. bias from battery 32 may be accurately controlled by varying the resistor 34. This control arrangement is particularly advantageous to maintain optimum performance in the detacking or stripping corona generator of a xerographic machine.
