Abstract

1478307 Terminals RIPAULTS Ltd 17 Sept 1974 [14 Dec 1973] 58101/73 Heading H2E A terminal pressed from brass strip comprises a frusto-conical socket 10 and lugs 12, 13, lug 13 having tags 18 for crimping to the conductor of a lead (not shown) and tags 19 for crimping to the insulation of the lead. The socket 10 is fitted over a frusto-conical terminal post (not shown) and clamped by a square-headed bolt (24, Fig. 5, not shown) and a hexagonal nut (25) through holes 15, 16 in the lugs, which are separated by a spacer (23), the socket 10 having slots 20 to improve resilience and the end (26) of the bolt protruding beyond the nut being pinched to inhibit loosening. An identification letter may be impressed on the outside of the socket at 22 during the pressing operation.
