Abstract

1475801 Separating solids from gas A ZIMMERMANN 2 July 1974 [4 July 1973] 29327/ 74 Heading BIT [Also in Division B8] Material is supplied to a plurality of consumers via a ring duct, material being separated from the conveying air stream and delivered to the respective consumer via an accumulator tube which opens into a receptacle in which a build-up of material occurs to restrict output of material from the tube and obstruct gas flow through the tube. In Fig. 2, material is blown along ring duct 4, 5-along which are spaced separators which each supply a consumer e.g. an extruder screw. Each separator comprises a container 9 whose inlet 10 and outlet 11 may be offset as shown and including a baffle 15 which may be adjusted to separate the required amount of material from the stream. The material fills accumulator tube 13 and collecting vessel 14 to an embankment level 17 such that the consumer is supplied with material at the same pressure as that prevailing in the consumer.
