Abstract

1474866 Gas cleaning apparatus H HOLTER 11 Nov 1975 46632/75 Heading B1R An apparatus for removing dust from a gaseous current comprises a wet agglomerator 10 with entry section 11 and spray nozzles 13 for a cleaning liquid, preferably water, inside a downwardly sloping casing 12, a two-stage separator comprising a first coarse drop separator 23 in the form of an arcuate slatted deflector 20 which deflects the gas stream upwardly but allows liquid drops to pass through into collector trough 26 and a second drop separator 28 in the form of a filter or gauze and associated collector trough 30 and fans 33 for inducting the gas through the apparatus. Nozzles 13 are fed with liquid in tank 17 via pump 15. Liquid collected in 26 and 30 is fed via pump 34 and, cyclone, separator 26 back to tank 17.
