Abstract

1474742 Transfer lettering DYMO INDUSTRIES Inc 3 Sept 1975 [5 Sept 1974] 38907/74 Heading B6C [Also in Divisions G4-G6] A lettering system for forming signs on receptor surfaces consists of a series of letters each formed of a flexible plastics sheet, such as vinyl, having an adhesive on one side and being peelably mounted on a separate mounting tile 10, a side edge 12 of each tile being so profiled that, when that edge abuts but does not overlap any horizontally adjacent letter, the correct spacing between the two letters is obtained. Preferably, each tile 10 is in two parts with a joint line between those parts passing behind the letter, but the tiles may be front mounted. The profiled edges 12 are so formed that the area (shown shaded) between any two adjacent letters is always the same.
