Abstract

1472640 Packaging D C BUDD 16 May 1975 [12 Aug 1974] 35368/74 Heading B8C A tray (not shown) is filled with articles such as apples whilst it stands within a frame 1 on downwardly biased pivoted flaps 8, 9, and is then allowed to drop into a carton (not shown) beneath the frame when a gate latch 15 is operated to release an L-shaped rod 12 secured to a rod 3 pivoted at its ends in the frame and mounting the flap 9. The pivoting motion of the flap 9 is transmitted through drive members 6, 7 and 5 to a pivotable rod 2 mounting the flap 8 so that both flaps move together. The rod 12 may be pivoted back and re-latched to return the flaps to their tray supporting position.
