Abstract

1471937 Semi-conductor devices THOMSON-CSF 21 May 1974 [22 May 1973] 22701/74 Heading H1K Two semi-conductor diodes 1, 2 are mounted in a common housing with their cathodes 8, 11 soldered to the conductive base 5 and cover 6 thereof respectively and their anodes 9, 12 connected via conductive wires to braids 10, 13 to the cover 6 and base 5 respectively, contact between the wire 10, 13 being avoided by locating them in different, non-parallel (preferably perpendicular) planes. The base 5 and cover 6 are joined by an insulating ring 7. The ends 105 of the wire 13 are preferably embedded in brazing material 101 on the base 5, while the ends 103 of the wire 10 are preferably embedded in brazing material 100 on the cover 6 and are located between the cover 6 and the ring 7. The assembly is particularly useful as a passive limiter for microwave applications.
