1471679 Moisturising composition AVON PRODUCTS Inc 17 July 1974 [17 July 1973] 31724/74 Heading A5B A moisturising composition for cosmetic use comprises (a) 2-pyrrolidone-5-carboxylic acid or a methyl-substituted 2-pyrrolidone-5-carboxylic acid or a hygroscopic salt thereof, (b) a C2-C5 alpha-hydroxy carboxylic acid salt, and (c) a modified collagen-derived polypeptide material (defined), admixed with a topical cosmetic base carrier. The hygroscopic salt (a) may be an alkali or alkaline earth metal or ammonium salt. The acid of (b) may be glycolic, lactic or alpha-hydroxy butyric acid. The base carrier may be a glycerin/water mixture or an oil or wax.
