Abstract
147,100. Bosch Akt.-Ges., R. June 4, 1919, [Convention date]. Exciting; motors, gearing for.-In an electric starter in which the motor armature and the starting-pinion are displaced axially by a highresistance field winding d, Fig. 1, and set in slow rotation, the main field winding c being afterwards connected in parallel with the winding d, the two windings are completely separate from each other and are arranged on oppositely-disposed pairs of poles f, f<1> and e, e<1>. The circuit of the high-resistance winding is closed by a hand-switch g, and that of the main winding by an electro-magnetic switch h. In a modification, Fig. 2, the high-resistance winding is divided into two sections d', d<3> and d<2>, d', the section d', d<3> being in series with the armature and the section d<2> d4 in parallel. The section d<2>, d<4> is insufficient without the other section to move the armature axially into the magnetic field.
