Abstract
1470481 Bending heads V N SHUBIN V S SILANTIEV and A S KHLYNTSEV 8 May 1975 19362/75 Heading B3E A bending head for bending a tube or rod 1 includes a housing 2 through which the tube or rod is axially fed, the housing supporting two pairs of rollers 5 and 6 and two bending rollers 8 mounted on a pivotable arm 7. The arm is adjusted by a rod 9 whose end is threaded into a rotatable nut 10, rotation of the nut (by means of a toothed annulus 11) causing movement of the arm. The arm can be pivoted in opposite senses so that one or other roller 8 is operative. The nut is carried in a gear 12 rigid with the housing, rotation of the gear causing the whole head to rotate about its axis. This allows the plane of bending to be varied, or permits the production of a helically bent tube when the gear 12 is rotated during bending. An archimedian spiral can also be produced.
