Abstract

1470377 Spring applied fluid pressure released brakes BENDIX WESTINGHOUSE Ltd 10 July 1974 [12 July 1973] 33354/73 Heading F2F In a spring brake parking system including a spring actuator 2 connected to act as a parking brake when controlling fluid pressure is removed therefrom and held in the off condition by a controlling pressure the said pressure is supplied from a relay valve 11 which is controlled by a service or secondary brake control pressure applied to the relay valve via a check valve 9 which is a double check valve having one input connected to a upright pressure for application to a service brake actuator via a valve 5 and the other input connected to an inverse pressure supply for controlling a further spring brake actuator 1 through a valve 6. The control valve has a park position in which the outputs of relay valves 5 and 6 are at substantially zero pressure.
