Abstract
1469698 Oxygen sensor ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 22 May 1974 [23 May 1973] 22854/74 Heading G1N In a solid electrolyte sensor for determining the oxygen content of exhaust gases, the solid electrolyte is surrounded by a guard having apertures which direct the exhaust gases on to the solid electrolyte at an acute angle to its outer surface. The solid electrolyte is in the form of a tube with closed end 13 and the guard 26 is cylindrical, the apertures being defined by deflectors in the form of longitudinal or helical louvres or fins 47. The deflectors may be inwardly, Fig. 2, or outwardly directed. In a preferred embodiment the end of the guard is closed with an apertured base member.
