1467086 Rider-propelled vehicles SAMENWERKENDE RIJWIEL - EN MOTORINDUSTRIE UNIKAP NV 6 May 1975 19045/75 Heading B7E A two-wheeled vehicle comprises a frame 1, a front wheel 6 mounted on the frame for rotation about its own axis and about an upwardly extending pivot axis which intersects the ground at a point in the plane of the wheel 6 and spaced from the point of contact between the wheel 6 and the ground, a rear wheel 7 rotatably mounted on the frame, a foot rest 8 mounted on the frame between the wheels, and a member 11 mounted on the frame above the foot rest. In use the rider stands on the foot rest 8 and grips the member 11 between his legs, and then propels the vehicle by pushing against the ground with hand-held sticks (14), (Fig. 2, not shown). No steering means for directly controlling movement of the front wheel 6 about the upwardly extending pivot axis are provided, and the vehicle is thus steered by the rider leaning to one side or the other. The member 11 may be a plate or bicycle saddle and may, as shown, be mounted on a rod 10 slidable in a tube 9 carrying the foot rest 8, whereby the height of the member 11 is adjustable. The rear wheel may be fitted with a brake operable by a pedal 13 on the foot rest 8.
