Abstract

1465913 Clutch plates BRITISH LEYLAND UK Ltd 8 Nov 1974 [8 Nov 1973] 51860/73 Headings F2C and F2U A clutch plate comprises linings 11 rivetted to segments 13 which are waved as shown in Fig. 4 and mounted back to back to provide axial resilience between the linings 11. The segments 13 are bent about lines which converge towards the outer periphery of the plate to provide a spring rate decreasing radially outwardly, drive being initially transmitted through the inner marginal portions of linings 11. Each segment has a larger hole 18 and a smaller hole 17, the hole 17 of one segment being opposite hole 18 of the other of the pair and rivets 12 having two portions of different diameters interconnect the segments 13 and attach the linings 11 to them (Fig. 2). The plate is provided with cushioning springs 32 and spring loaded friction washers 33 to damp vibration.
