Abstract
146,466. Zeiss, C., [Firm of]. Jan. 29, 1919, [Convention date]. Stereoscopic apparatus.-Relates to apparatus for copying from a photostereogram a surface of spatial form, the device including a copying system containing a member movable in any desired direction and guided so as to remain parallel to itself, the copying tool being caused to participate in the movements of the said member in at least one plane. The invention principally comprises means whereby such apparatus is adapted to copy correctly from photograms produced by a stereoscopic camera, the optical axis of which have occupied any given positions in relation to the horizontal and to each other. The copying system comprises a binocular double telescope b mounted so as to be rotatable about the horizontal axis Y-Y in a bracket a<2> which is mounted so as to be rotatable about the horizontal axis X-X in a standard a<1> secured to the base-plate a. Each single telescope includes a train of reflecting prisms b<3>-b<6> of which the prisms b<6> are rotatable about the vertical axes Z-Z, and the prisms b<3> are provided with sighting-marks b<7>. The system of copying-slides comprises a height slide A<1> mounted on a breadth-slide B<1> which is mounted on the depth-slide C<1> displaceable over the baseplate a. The slide A<1> carries a. copying- tool c<2> in proximity to the fixed copy-holder c<3>. Handles d are provided by which the slide system can be manually operated, and clamping-screws d<1>, d<2>, d<3> serve for securing the various slides when required. Mounted on the telescope b so as to be rotatable about vertical axes U-U are two links e<1>, e<2>, which are connected by universal joints f<1> to a plate g, which is mounted so as to be rotatable about the axis V-V on the slide A<1>, the link e<1> being connected directly while the link e<2> is connected to an intermediate member h which can be adjusted in the breadth direction on the plate g. The axes U, Z are connected by belts i<3> providing a gear ratio of ¢ so that the sighting line, determined by the position of the prism b<6>, remains parallel to the corresponding link. The means for setting up the photograms comprise two standards k, adjustable in the breadth-direction, within which are verticallyadjustable pillars l carrying forks m which are rotatable around the vertical axis W-W. Mounted in the forks m so as to be rotatable about the horizontal axes R-R are casings n carrying objectives n<3>. Also carried by the casings n are frames o which are adiustable around horizontal axes and carry the photograms. The various parts of the apparatus are set in positions corresponding to those of the optical axes of the camera used for producing the photograms, and the slide p is adjusted over the slide g according to the scale to which the copy is to be produced. Specification 12710/14 is referred to.
