Abstract
1463034 Hydraulic axial clamps ALBERT SCHREM KG 19 March 1975 [21 March 1974] 11437/75 Heading E2A A hydraulic clamp for exerting fastening pressure axially of a shaft 22 on a wheel hub 23 comprises: a member 1 provided with an annular, hydraulic chamber 16 with at least one radially extending hydraulic chamber 7 connected by a passage 14 or respective passages (only one shown) to the annular chamber, the or each radial chamber and the annular chamber being arranged in one plane; a pressure adjusting screw 8 associated with the or each radial chamber 7 (e.g. by a piston 11 and seal 12) to alter pressure in the chambers; and an axially displaceable clamping element having a sleeve 19 engaged in the annular chamber 16 and displaceable by pressure in the chamber 16. A bore 4 in the member may be formed with a screw thread to mate with the screw threaded end 6 of the shaft 22, or may be a plain bore, the member being held by a nut on the shaft.
