Abstract
1462007 Desulphurizing transition metal alloys SPECIAL METALS CORP 17 Feb 1975 [27 Feb 1974] 6602/75 Heading C7D A metal alloy containing a substantial amount of one or more of iron, nickel and cobalt is desulphurized by contacting the molten alloy substantially in the absence of an oxygen containing atmosphere with a Ca-Ni or Ca-Al alloy. The melt may be treated in a vacuum melting furnace using either a vacuum or argon atmosphere and may be deoxidized prior to desulphurization.
